safety
safety is a fragile thing
temporary at best
momentary and nothing
nothing to trust or rely
in a balance shifting
from unsafety
over teetering moment
to unsecurity
between the sliding
past that edges we live upon
and stagnation
and death in life
perhaps an answer to that
ever mutating intersecting
array of questions
for every answer
perhaps to at least sometime
for a little while
broaden and make a little
less slippy that path
constructed from loose gravel
unbridged voids
illusions of safety as we tread
along our precipitous paths
feeling fitting
dreams within dreams
searching for a talisman
a token to hold
an icon that means gifts grants
that chimera
for but an instant
of safe
