remembering
Private personal silence
but no secrets in plain sight
for anyone who cares to see
Remembering …
That first time, only time, I kissed your lips
you slept, after, I left you smiling
Remembering …
That first time, only time, we held touched
skin to skin, painted close as parting
Days lives pass unresolved
rinse repeat, still seeking
courage, more courage
having found … some, late, slight
transformative yes, needing more
Constrained by fear and stasis
needing to ask … permission?
to re-negotiate re-ground
rules re-delineate possibility
return rerun replay, perhaps play
One day, as anniversaries compel
coming up, smelling of daisies
27th June 2017 – memories resurfaced on Clough Road, cycling home past potholes
